Frequently asked questions

Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?

No. The quote tool asks for gender, date of birth, general health, tobacco use, coverage amount and term length. Six pieces of information are all that is needed to return carrier rates. Your name, address, phone number and health history are only collected if you choose to move forward with an application.

Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?

They are the monthly rates each carrier quotes for the health class you selected. The final premium is set by the carrier after underwriting, which may confirm, improve or change the class. Nothing on this site constitutes an offer of insurance or a guarantee of any particular price.

What happens when I click Apply?

You enter your name and select a carrier, and the application is prefilled with the answers you gave on this site, then continues on the carriers' secure platform. You can pause and resume anytime, and you sign electronically. Susman Insurance Agency, a licensed California agency (License 0B75129), handles the application process.

Will I need a medical exam?

It depends on the carrier, the coverage amount and your answers. Many carriers now offer accelerated underwriting for eligible applicants under certain age and amount limits; each quote on this site indicates whether an exam is required, possibly required, or not required for that product.

Is a longer term better?

A term length should match the years when someone would be financially hurt by your death: while a mortgage is outstanding, while children are at home, while a business loan is active. Longer terms cost more per month but lock in your rate for longer. The tool on this site lets you compare 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 year terms side by side.

Does this site sell my information?

No. The quote tool does not collect contact details, we do not sell or share visitor data, and our measurement is cookieless and privacy-first. Visit the privacy policy for a complete accounting of what is collected and by whom.
